From an early age, Ryan Johnson has had a passion for racing and a desire to win.

Born in Minnesota in 1991, Ryan began racing Quarter Midgets when he was 6 years old. In numerous different states and on twenty-five or more tracks, Ryan has been victorious.

With one national title under his belt and two national fast time awards, Ryan decided to move to the next challenge. This came in the form of Legends cars. Ryan started racing Legends cars when he was fourteen. He raced at three different tracks regularly, including I-94 Raceway, Raceway Park, and Elko Speedway.

This is where Ryan began to shine. In his 2007 season, he won nine of the fourteen races he attended at Elko and went on to win the 2007 Legends Points Championship.

Feeling accomplished in Legends cars, Ryan decided that Super Late Models were his next stepping stone to the big time. In 2008, Ryan made the move to a Super Late Model. Throughout the season, Ryan had five Top 5 finishes including two back-to-back third place finishes at Elko against a very strong field of Super Late Models. Ryan finished 7th overall in points and was awarded Rookie of the Year honors at Elko Speedway.

Aside from racing, Ryan enjoys all sports and activities. He was the Captain of Science Olympiad and the President of German Club at Eagan High School and also actively participated in National Honor Society, Math Team, Pole Vaulting, and Business Professionals of America. In his free time, he loves to repair cars in his garage as well as play many sports. Ryan goes snowboarding, skateboarding, mountain biking, wakeboarding, knee boarding and jogging very often and also enjoys playing soccer, tennis, badminton, volleyball, and table tennis. This did not hinder him from school work either; Ryan took every Advanced Placement and Honors class available and graduated with a 3.92 GPA and a class rank of 28th in his class of 600 Students.

For the 2010 season, Ryan and his crew are planning to continue running both Elko Speedway and Raceway Park along with some Dirt races at Kopellah and Cedar Lake where they can showcase their talents.  When he isn’t racing weekly shows Ryan will be traveling to compete in some ASA Midwest tour races around the Midwest.

Ryan is now attending McGill University in Montreal Quebec and is spending his time working on the Formula SAE engineering design project and pole vaulting for varsity track and field. He looks forward to the beginning of new opportunities and is expecting successful and exciting years to come.
